Is Golf A Game Or A Sport

Friday, September 28, 2018

The old debate of classifying golf as a sport or just a game is just as bad as the laurel vs yanny debate. Some hear yanny while others hear laurel. And same for golf – some believe its a sport others believe it’s just a game. People say that it comes down to the lack of rigorous physical activity that is needed to play. Others believe it’s due to the variations of the game and the ways that it can be played. For example, when you say you are playing mini golf, do you believe you are playing a sport or a game? Fun and leisure activities like this that surround golf has caused many to believe that it’s nothing more than a game and cannot be called a sport.

No matter what side of the fence you are on in this debate, your tournament can experience the best of both world with a little help from US Hole In One! For your pros and amatuer golfers, give them the chance to exercise the sport and play the game of golf.

In golf, like in other sports, there is a correlation between physical training and improved performance. With US Hole In One, we can help improve your golfers performance, by giving them the opportunity to train to win top cash prizes and getaways! A Straightest Drive or Longest Drive or Closest To The Pin contest is the perfect way to have your golfers focus on strategy, balance, flexibility, posture, core stability, strength, power, and cardiovascular training. Like other sports, playing golf can lead to problems in the lower back, elbow, wrist, hand, shoulder, or head. More than half of professional golfers have had to stop playing because of their injuries. So holding contests as a way for training for the sport will be appreciated by your golfers.

The game of golf can be enjoyed through countless ways. Let’s face it – golf is a fun activity that can be played by both young and old. Playing the game of golf through a contest like a hole-in-one, putting, or shootout is a fun-filled way of having your golfers loosen up and not take the game too serious. With US Hole In One, we offer contest coverage to assume the risk associated with offering a valuable prize. When you get coverage through US Hole In One, if you have a hole in one contest winner, we become fully responsible for paying out the prizes!

Free Golf Clubs For Your Golfers

Friday, September 14, 2018

For most golfers, the only way to win some freebies would be to enter a local golf tournament to  compete to win. Scramble tournaments may also reward free clubs for in-tournament contests, such as longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt. Raffling is another way to take home some free prizes. But by getting coverage with US Hole In One, just having your golfers enter your tournament automatically awards them with a complimentary golf certificate from Warrior Custom Golf!

After purchasing coverage with us, we will send along with your signage, your free certificates. On the day of the outing, at the registration table or check-in spot, hand out a certificate to each golfer. After the event, your golfers can redeem their certificate for their choice of a 19-Degree Hybrid Club and/or 60-Degree Lob Wedge exclusively from Warrior Custom Golf.

There is no cost associated with receiving the certificates. As an event organizer or sponsor, US Hole In One is offering the certificates to you free of charge. And even though each club typically retails for much more, Warrior Custom Golf has agreed to offer them for free to your golfers. However, golfers will be responsible for a flat fee of $16.45 for the Wedge, $23.50 for the Hybrid or $36.40 for both clubs to cover the cost of professional custom fitting, packaging the club securely for shipment & sending it to the golfer’s desired mailing address.

Fall Golf Preparations

Thursday, August 9, 2018

Fall is the season to take advantage of before the harsh winter weather shows its self. Don’t get us wrong. Playing golf in winter conditions is possible, but wouldn’t you rather play when the weather is not too hot and not too cold? Playing golf in the fall has its perks not just when it comes to weather conditions. The foliage itself is a good enough reason to play. It makes for an unforgettable game or tournament. And that short swing that hit could be lifted with some help from the typical windy conditions noticed during the season. Fall comes with less worry and preparations as well. Did you ever notice during the summer that courses can become over-crowded? During the fall, less crowds can equal more time to practice and more courses. Membership rates also tend to less expensive during fall season as well.

Golf Tech: SmartGolf’s Smart Putter

Friday, August 3, 2018

Just like other sports, golf has seen a recent surge in technological based products. Some products improve your game, by helping with your swing, distance or posture. The SmartGolf’s Smart Putter trains laser-precision into your putting stroke using an actual laser and Bluetooth technology.

Although the concept for the Smart Putter is simple, the technology is more complex. Basically, the Smart Putter is a face-balanced mallet putter with a laser-pointer embedded in the face. Practice with the Smart Putter entails addressing the ball with the laser shining dead-center at the back of the ball, and making a natural putting stroke. An array of lights on the top of the putter head also tells you if the head is tilted too far back, forward, toe-up, or toe-down.

Other features for the Smart Putter are as follows:

  • Face-balanced mallet type putter
  • Length : 35 inches (88.9cm)
  • Weight – Head 0.846 pounds (384 grams), Total 1.33 pounds(605 grams)
  • 3 degrees of loft with 72 degrees of lie
  • Shaft & Grip is made by a South Korean Pro. Club maker ‘Ahwa”- use on the course/green
  • LED level indicator / Laser aiming system – level/square stroke
  • Bluetooth stroke data transmitter – effective analysis anywhere anytime

The Smart Putter even goes a step further by including integration with the SmartGolf app. You can download the SmartGolf app, and the Smart Putter will transmit stroke data to your phone to keep track of your tendencies, progress, and changes over time. There’s even a virtual green on the app you can play a game on.

To buy and try one of these putters for yourself, go to SmartGolf’s website here.

Hole In One Recipe

Friday, July 13, 2018

Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific recipe to follow to make a hole in one. If that was the case, there would be a lot more hole in one winners. However, maybe adding a pinch of luck, a dash of skill and an amazing golf tournament, might just be all you need. We have listed a few tips for you to take during your next hole in one contest. See below.

#1: Confidence
Come to the tee with confidence. You need to relish the opportunity that you have to put the ball on the green in one shot and get it close to the hole. The attitude you need to bring to have any chance to get the ball in the hole is aggressive

#2: The Right Club
You’d think that the shorter the par-3, the greater the chance of getting a hole-in-one, meaning that more would be made with wedges than anything else. The stats suggest otherwise and, in fact, the 7-iron and 8-iron make more aces than any other club, each registering 14% of all aces. 40% of all aces are made with a 7-iron, 8-iron or 9-iron.

#3: The Perfect Swing
Take a full swing. Bring your club back to shoulder height and come through the ball with speed and velocity. Snap your right hand through the ball and finish up high.

#4: Practice
Go to the driving range regularly where you can work with your medium and long irons. Many golfers are a bit afraid when using these clubs because they are less forgiving. But with the correct fundamentals, you are sure to take home a win.

Now before we let you go, our last tip is to take a look at our hole-in-one insurance. It’s flexible and affordable. Our goal is to please all of our clients. Our hole in one insurance has helped give away prizes ranging from cash prizes to a brand new BMW. So take your pick!

To see how your pros and amateurs can take a shot at making a hole-in-one give us a call at 888-882-5440 or email us at!

  • They will then get to attempt a single 40 or 50 foot putt. They are playing for the grand prize.
  • If the participants are able to putt the ball into a hole in one try, they will win the grand prize.

So, how will you pay for this type of coverage? It is simple. If they win,US Hole In One the costs. You just get to claim that someone in your event won the grand prize! Giving Your Golfers More

Friday, June 8, 2018

A hole in one insurance promising a cash prize, a car or vacation will always generate a good amount of excitement.  Did you know that US Hole In One will also cover additional Bonus Prize Holes? These Bonus Prizes will come at no additional cost and we will also include the signs to go along with them!

These Bonus Prizes make a nice addition to any golf outing or tournament.  They provide the golfers an opportunity to win a prize if they happen to ace a par 3 hole which is not the Grand Prize hole.  It would be disappointing for someone to sink a Hole In One on another par 3 and then have to walk away with nothing at all.  These Bonus Prizes are sure to add more buzz and excitement to an already eventful day!

At the moment we offer several different Bonus Prizes.  They include a set of  Callaway Irons, a Sharp LCD Flat-Screen Television and a pair of round trip tickets to anywhere in the continental US.  You also have the ability to customize which prizes you would like to display.  For example, you might like to give away 2 televisions and 1 set of clubs, or have all the prizes to be Plane Tickets.  No problem, it is all up to you!  Just let us know how many par 3 holes you have, and which signs you want, we take care of the rest.
